The New York Forward program is intended to invigorate and enliven smaller downtowns and neighborhood-scale municipal centers with eligible project types including but not limited to: Mixed Use Development, Public Space Improvements, Historic Preservation, Small Business Support, Infrastructure and Mobility.
Located along the north side of Whitesboro Street between DeWitt and Saratoga Streets, the proposed project has been designed with a townhouse-style façade so as to fit into the context of the surrounding neighborhood.
Mayor Galime today received a personal communication directly from Governor Hochul regarding a discretionary increase in funding of $5.61 million to assist Utica with our next budget year.
After four decades of use, the existing play units have fallen into disrepair. Plans call for replacing equipment, upgrading the safety standards, revitalizing neighborhood athletic hubs & tree canopy:
Mayor Michael P. Galime invites residents and visitors to join him at the ski hill on Friday, February 13, to celebrate this milestone. Complimentary refreshments, including water, coffee, tea, and hot cocoa, will be available.
All vehicles must be removed from city streets by 10:00pm TONIGHT, DECEMBER 30, 2025 with no exceptions.
While we are currently still waiting for a plow purchased in 2023, Mayor Galime launched efforts to purchase pre-owned vehicles to decrease the age of our fleet, while spending one eighth the cost, saving hundreds of thousands.
“These events are complimentary and open to the public,” said city officials. “We’re proud to bring the community together once again to celebrate the holiday season in one of Utica’s most historic neighborhoods.”
Please join Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon (119th District) and Mayor Michael Galime Monday for the groundbreaking of the $2 million renovation project at the Val Bialas Ski Center, marking a significant investment in the future of winter recreation in the City of Utica.
Abatements have risen by nearly 30 percent, resulting in approximately 162 additional property cleanouts each year.
