Utica Memorial Auditorium "The AUD"
The AUD is home to the Vancouver Canucks American Hockey League affiliate, the Utica Comets and dozens of events throughout the year. In 2011, the AUD was designated as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers, ranked #8 in "The 10 Coolest Hockey Rinks in the World" by Complex Magazine and 8th best AHL arena by Stadium Journey in 2014.

Weekends in the Utica
Our area is filled with great local festivals. Popular among these weekend festivals are Utica Arts and Music Festival, the Great American Irish Festival, Remsen Barn Festival of the Arts and regular farmer’s markets.

Boilermaker Road Race
By far, the largest weekend event is the Boilermaker 15K. Each July, runners from all over the world travel to the City of Utica to compete or for fun. The race hosts over 17,000 participants and features a 5K walk, Kids’ Run, an Invitational Mile, Youth Olympics, 5K race, 15K race and a 15k wheelchair race. The race is preceded by a health and fitness expo held at Mohawk Valley Community College. Boilermaker weekend is a time when families and friends reunite in their hometown to celebrate this annual event. The race route ends at and is hosted by the Saranac Brewery.

Saranac Brewery
One cannot mention Utica, N.Y. without the Saranac Brewery. Family owned and operated in the same location since 1888, this award winning brewery continues to expand in size and in variety. Saranac brews over 50 varieties of beer as well as non-alcoholic soft drinks. Each Thursday during the summer months, the brewery hosts the “Saranac Thursdays” concert series. The event is $5 to enter, and is used as a fundraiser for the United Way of Greater Utica.

Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute
MWPAI, which features an extensive permanent collection, as well as rotating exhibitions. The museum also offers art and dance classes to the community. Neighboring Fountain Elms, a restored Italianate mansion features a first floor furnished and decorated as it was in Victorian times and a second floor gallery normally featuring house wares and furnishings.

Stanley Center for the Arts
The Stanley is in the heart of Downtown on Genesee Street. A former movie palace in the Mexican baroque style, the Center is home to the Broadway Theater League of Greater Utica which brings Off-Broadway shows and performers to the Stanley stage. The Center is also home to the Mohawk Valley Ballet and the Utica Symphony Orchestra.

Sculpture Space
Located in the City’s west side, is unique in North America for its support of sculptors who come to Utica as residency participants and those who continue after their residencies as working artists. Sculpture Space selects 20 artists each year for two-month residencies and has helped to advance the careers of more than 500 national and international artists since 1976. The organization places works in the public domain, hosts studio tours, welcomes school groups to meet and watch working artists, collaborates with other organizations to exhibit artists’ projects, and arranges lectures at area educational institutions.

The Utica Zoo
The Zoo is located on the grounds of Utica’s Roscoe Conkling Park. The Zoo features a collection of over 200 animals on 40 acres. It’s newest and most popular addition is the lion exhibit. Throughout the year, Utica Zoo is host to many social events/fundraisers for the entire family and include: Eggstravaganza, Wine in the Wilderness, Brewfest and Spooktacular.

Utica Children’s Museum
The Children's Museum of History, Natural History & Science dba "Utica Children’s Museum" is housed in a beautiful historic building located in the heart of Utica’s downtown Bagg’s Square district.  The Museum currently offers approximately 60 exhibits and experiences throughout four floors of play space and is in the process of being transformed into a hands-on, interactive destination that will impact more than 100,000 visitors over the next five years.  Come play with us!
