The City of Utica's Engineering Department is involved with many programs that benefit not only the community as a whole but also individual homeowners alike.
Programs like Urban Forest Revitalization offer homeowners the opportunity to have a tree planted in their right-of-way to rebuild the natural canopy of trees that were once abundant in Utica. The Sidewalk Program provides homeowners with an incentive to have the sidewalks in the front or the side of their yard replaced due to cracking or deterioration.
Programs that benefit the community as a whole include the Sewer System Management and Street Paving programs. Sewer System Management entails making sure the sewer system is working properly through videoing and replacement/reconstruction as needed. As we live in the Northeast, our community is well aware of the need for safe and reliable streets. Roads are ranked based on condition and usage as a determination for what are priorities for the upcoming paving season.
Links for these programs are in the navigation bar to the left and throughout the Engineering section of the website.
