MAYOR ROBERT PALMIERI & DPW COMMISSIONER DAVE SHORT ANNOUNCE GREEN WASTE PICK UP SCHEDULE
Mayor Robert Palmieri and DPW Commissioner Dave Short today announced the beginning of bulk green waste pick up.
All sections of the City for bulk green waste pick up will be hit once every two weeks (on every other garbage night).
Containerized green waste will still be picked up once a week, but bulk green waste will be done every other week until November 20th.
The City will pick up leaves, small branches, small shrubbery, pumpkins, etc. Per the City Code, the City will not pick up trees. If residents have trees they want removed they can call Oneida Herkimer Solid Waste Authority and have it picked up for a flat rate or drop it off at its transfer station on Leland Avenue for free (with proof of residency).
City Officials are urging residents to comply with green waste guidelines to ensure efficient and timely pick up.
“Despite our reduction in manpower, Commissioner Short has done an outstanding job in ensuring quality services are provided to our residents,” Mayor Palmieri said. “I thank the Solid Waste Authority for their partnership in working with the City.”
If residents have any questions they can call the Solid Waste Authority at 315-731-0238.
