MAYOR PALMIERI ANNOUNCES GALAXY MEDIA OPENS NEW HEADQUARTERS IN DOWNTOWN UTICA’S LANDMARC BUILDING
Mayor Robert Palmieri today announced that Galaxy Media has officially opened its new headquarters in the newly renovated Landmarc Building in downtown Utica.
Galaxy started in the back of diner in Frankfort 25 years ago and moved to Washington Mills in 1994.
Since that time Galaxy has grown tremendously with several local radio stations such as WKLL (94.9 KROCK), WOUR (96.9 FM), WUMX (Mix 102.5), WTLB, WRNY, WIXT (ESPN radio). One of the major highlights of the new facility is street level windows, where the public can watch the Galaxy on-air staff broadcast live throughout the day.
Galaxy welcomes everyone to a “Friday After Four Party” on Friday August 21st from 4-8pm on Columbia Street outside the Landmarc Building to celebrate its Grand Opening. The party will feature beer from Saranac and live music from Gridley Paige. The party is sponsored by The City of Utica, Galaxy Media, WUTR-TV, and is free and open to the public.
Mayor Palmieri stated, “This is another exciting day in the rebirth of our great City. I thank Pam and Ed Levine for believing in Utica and moving their headquarters to the Landmarc Building.
The Mayor continued, “As downtown continues its revitalization, we are poised for further development and transformation.”
Galaxy Media CEO Ed Levine stated, “As we celebrate 25 years of owning some of Utica’s best local radio station, we are thrilled to be moving to the heart of downtown. Events like “Friday After Four” will now be common occurrences. Galaxy is proud to be part of the rebirth of Utica and the entire Mohawk Valley.”
