CONTRACT AGREEMENT
MAYOR PALMIERI ANNOUNCES CONTRACT AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY AND CSEA UNION
Mayor Robert Palmieri today announced an agreement has been reached with the City of Utica and the CSEA union.
The four year agreement, which is retroactive back to 2014, includes two years of zero percent salary increases and averages a one percent raise per year over the life of the contract.
In addition, the contract mandates all new hires contribute 20% towards their total health insurance premium.
With the agreement between the City and CSEA finalized, all union contracts have been settled and include 20% health care contribution from new hires; ensuring permanent long term savings for the City.
Mayor Palmieri stated, “Health insurance is an enormous cost driver for the City and our number one priority throughout the negotiation process was to decrease the City’s long term health insurance cost.”
The Mayor continued, “Reducing health care costs will help us secure financial sustainability, and I am pleased over the past four years we’ve been able to negotiate a 20% contribution for new hires with all unions. I thank CSEA leadership for negotiating in good faith and coming to a palatable resolution.”
