Quality of Life Sweeps

“Keep It Clean, Keep It Safe.”

Mayor Robert M. Palmieri, Department Heads and City workers have conducted over 95 Quality of Life sweeps - covering more than 190 miles of neighborhood streets since 2012. April 2015 will start the fourth year of Mayor Palmieri’s Quality of Life sweeps in the City of Utica.

Mayor Palmieri is fully committed to providing Utica residents with a cleaner, safer place to live and work. The administration’s ongoing goal is to identify first-hand the problems and concerns in our neighborhoods and with our residents. This effort stretches further to help instill a sense of pride and accountability in our residents for their neighborhoods all across our city.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to join the Mayor on his weekly sweep of the neighborhood.

Many organizations have joined on these sweeps over the years and have supported our community including:

  • Utica Comets
  • Rescue Mission of Utica
  • Utica Municipal Housing Authority
  • The Criminal Justice class of Mohawk Valley Community College
  • Alpha Chi Rho (AXP) of Utica College
  • Indium Corporation
  • Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters
  • The Catalyst Group
  • The Boilermaker Committee
  • F.X. Matt Brewery
  • Mayor Brindisi and the Village of Herkimer

These sweeps of the City’s neighborhoods are apart of our never ending commitment to provide a better quality of life in the City of Utica.
