MAYOR ROBERT PALMIERI & PAMELA MATT ANNOUNCE REGISTRATION FOR 2015 STRENGTHENING CITIES, COMMUNITIES & HOMES SUMMIT

Mayor Robert Palmieri and Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Pamela Matt today announced registration for the 2015 Strengthening Cities, Communities & Homes Summit is now open.

The welcoming reception will be at 5:00 pm on Tuesday May 19th at the F.X. Matt Brewery and the summit will take place all day on Wednesday May 20th at the Radisson Hotel and Stanley Theater and conclude with a closing reception at the Landmarc Building in downtown Utica.

The summit is supported by numerous municipalities throughout our region including the cities of Amsterdam, Binghamton, Rome, Utica and Watertown.

The agenda will include several keynote addresses and nearly a dozen breakout sessions ranging from combating veterans homelessness to helping runaway youth to preparing for the Nano Economy.

Key representatives from various Federal and State agencies will be attending providing a tremendous opportunity for local real estate and housing agencies, financial institutions, private investors, non-profit agencies and leaders in our community to network and form new working relationships.

The cost of the summit is $50 per person and includes a continental breakfast and a lunch voucher. All summit participants must register at https://uticasummit.eventbrite.com.

HUD Field Office Director Jaime Forero stated, “This is our second Strengthening Cities, Communities, and Homes Summit and I am looking forward to working with Mayor Palmieri and Pamela Matt to bring together our housing stakeholders, advocates, and everyone interested in continuing the great work going on in Utica, Amsterdam, Binghamton, Rome, and Watertown. Working together is vital for continued progress, and the Summit has proven to be an important step to support the good work of local leaders.”

Mayor Palmieri stated, “Hosting this summit is a tremendous honor and opportunity for us to showcase how special our City is. Given the unique opportunities it brings, I encourage all housing organizations, continuum of care partners, banking and real estate professionals, nonprofit agencies and community leaders to participate.

The Mayor added, “I thank our HUD representative Jaime Forero, my co-Chair Pamela Matt, Chamber of Commerce staff and the countless volunteers who are working very to make this a great event our community will be proud of.”

Pamela Matt stated, “We are extremely excited and honored to be co-chairing this wonderful event with the City of Utica. The fact that we were chosen to host this event is a testament to the growth and development that is happening in our city. We are proud to be a part of hosting the summit, and hope to see many of our community partners in attendance.”
