MAYOR PALMIERI & THE EVENT CO ANNOUNCE SECOND ANNUAL UTICA SUMMER FEST

Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri and Gina Scampone, owner of the ‘the event co’ today announced the second annual Utica Summer Fest.

Utica Summer Fest was well received as a long awaited community event last year. This success has allowed the event to grow in 2019. The event will be held primarily in the area of the Utica State Office Building.

The 2019 Utica Summer Fest will feature a streamlined event with focus on entertainment, all food “Utica”, and a surprising selection of tasty brews.

Utica Summer Fest will kick off summer with a stage lineup for two full days of local and regional music, highlighted with national headliner, Motown Artists, Rare Earth.

Mayor Palmieri stated, “I am pleased that Utica Summer Fest will be coming back for a second year. Last year’s event exceeded expectations and we are excited to build upon that success. I encourage everyone to attend and enjoy this family friendly event as it highlights so many positive things about our community.”

New York State Office of General Services Commissioner RoAnn Destito, said “Bringing people downtown is a wonderful way to kick off the summer. I hope people will stop by the Utica State Office Building to enjoy the music from our plaza.”

Gina Scampone stated, “Utica Summer Fest is the biggest little block party in the Mohawk Valley. It was a priority to extend the hours this year and cater to our downtown business crowd during our daytime hours. Slating music that stretches decades makes Utica Summer Fest something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day

and well into the evening this year. We want everyone to come, eat, enjoy the food and beverages.”

Scampone continued, “This event is a great experiential marketing platform for our sponsors. It allows them to literally put their message in the hands of their consumers in our community. It’s all about community; residents, businesses, community outreach organizations and government entities, all coming together to celebrate all that is good in Utica.”

Utica Summer Fest will run from 11am-9pm on Thursday June 13th and Friday June 14th with Rare Earth scheduled for Friday evening.
