MAYOR PALMIERI ANNOUNCES CONSTRUCTION OF HOME 2 SUITES BY HILTON IN NORTH UTICA

Mayor Robert Palmieri today announced construction has officially begun for a new Home 2 Suites by Hilton on North Genesee Street.

Home 2 Suites is the first extended stay hotel in the City of Utica.  The hotel will be 14,000 square feet spread over four stories and have 89 rooms.  The hotel will offer guests a fresh new extended stay experience with inspired amenities, spacious comfortable suites with fully equipped kitchenettes, a pool and inviting community spaces complete with a fire pit and outdoor grills.

In addition, the site plan which was approved by the Planning Board last year will provide 123 parking spaces.

The owners of the property have worked in conjunction with the Utica Harbor Point Development Corporation on the acquisition and transfer of an adjoining parcel of land which will be landscaped and will further improve the Wurz Avenue entrance to Harbor Point.

Mayor Robert Palmieri stated, “As we prepare for the development at Harbor Point, we welcome another quality Visions Hotel property to our City. This is a testament to the Patel family’s commitment and belief in Utica’s future and we are thankful for their latest investment.”

Visions Hotel spokesman Andy Patel stated, “Mayor Palmieri has made the choice to develop in Utica an easy one.  We are excited about this project and look forward to continued growth in the City.”
