MAYOR PALMIERI ANNOUNCES 2nd YEAR LAUNCH OF COMMUNITY BANNER PROGRAM FEATURING LOCAL ARTIST MARIA VALLESE

Mayor Palmieri today announced the second year launch of the community banner program, a partnership with CGI Communications, Inc. & Community Showcase Banners, which will help to add color to our main streets while promoting local businesses.

The program calls for the hanging of banners throughout main street areas.

Mayor Palmieri stated, “The banners will showcase Utica pride, promoting our city’s unique identity with local imagery and business participation.” This year’s new banner designs are being created by local artist, Maria Vallese of Retro Sorrento.

Community Showcase Banners representative Matt Cottengim said “This initiative is about advertising the City by creating a great first impression for Utica's visitors, investors, individuals or students who are considering positions with local companies and colleges etc.” Cottengim added that “The banners will also highlight the economic vitality and support of our local businesses, while showcasing the great assets of our community.”
