ONEIDA COUNTY SHERIFF ROB MACIOL & UTICA MAYOR ROBERT PALMIERI ANNOUNCE 6th ANNUAL COPS VS. LOCAL CELEBRITIES CHARITY BASKETBALL GAME

All Funds Raised Will Support Joseph’s Experience to Help Children Impacted by Cancer or Leukemia in Our Community

 

Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol and Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri today announced the 6th annual Cops vs. Local Celebrities Charity Basketball Game will be on Saturday, March 24th at Proctor High School in Utica.

 

The game will peg law enforcement members from Oneida and Herkimer Counties against the area’s local leaders, business owners, and media personalities.

 

This year’s recipient of the funds raised will be Joseph’s Experience, whose mission is to enhance the quality of life of children who are affected by severe medical conditions such as Cancer & Leukemia. 

 

There will also be an Oneida County Youth Bureau game and boys & girls High School All Star game that will showcase some of Oneida Counties best high school basketball players.

 

The schedule of games is as follows;

 

12:30pm- Boys Modified All-Stars

 

2:00pm- Utica Lady Knicks

 

3:00pm- Oneida County Girl All-Stars

 

4:30pm- Celebrities vs. Media

 

5:45pm- Cops vs. Fireman

 

7:00pm- Oneida County Boy All-Stars

 

Sheriff Maciol said, “The annual Cops vs. Local Celebrities basketball game is a great event that helps children in need in our community.  It also provides the opportunity for the most talented basketball players in our region to showcase their abilities in support of this great cause.   I thank everyone who dedicates their time and effort in making this event a tremendous success.”

 

Mayor Palmieri stated, “I thank Sheriff Maciol for his continued partnership as the City of Utica is a strong supporter of Joseph’s Experience.  I encourage everyone in our community to attend this family friendly event.” 

 

The cost to see the games are free with a request for donations at the door to support this worthy cause. Food and drinks will be available to purchase during the event.
