Give Back to Utica Day

The Give Back to Utica Fund to support internships in Utica was established in 2007 by Steven Oram, Esq. through The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Inc. and this year marks the Give Back to Utica Initiative’s 10th Anniversary.

The Give Back to Utica Fund has financially supported internships for local students at Utica businesses and organizations seeking to build the future of the city, and has successfully arranged 19 such internships over the past ten years.

The internship for the mayor’s office is selected through a competitive essay contest, which began in 2011, and has had over 200 students participate to date.

Since then, the Give Back to Utica Fund has supported internships, through the Oneida County Executive Office, the Utica Mayor’s Office, Utica Roasting Company, The Utica Zoo, and Smith Packing Company Inc.

With continued support from generous community partners, the Give Back to Utica internship program will connect young professionals and regional employers in our community for years to come.

We appreciate the businesses and organizations who have participated thus far and encourage others to support and take advantage of this great program.

We thank the Community Foundation for their continued partnership and Steve Oram for his generosity and investing in our community’s youth.
