Valley View ready FORE another great season, Roefaro announces the addition of 50 new, environmentally friendly carts

Mayor also launches this year's "Lease-A-Seat" program

April 24, 2009- (Utica, NY)- VALLEY VIEW IS OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR THE SEASON

Last year, Roefaro reported that the golf course had one of its best seasons in recent years. Last year's wet summer marked a record for Valley View revenue, which was roughly $80,000, a figure attained without Roefaro changing any price points.

This year however, Roefaro is making some changes. Don't worry though; none of them are going to cost you a penny. In fact, they'll save you money and promote a cleaner environment.

Today, Roefaro is announcing the addition of 50 new, greener, golf carts. The new carts maximize gas mileage, utilizing one cylinder as opposed to the standard two cylinder engine. Most importantly, the new fuel efficient carts retain that two cylinder performance capability golfers enjoy. The new fleet is also roomier and equipped with a full canopy, sure to please even the pickiest golfers.

Mayor Roefaro is also announcing details of this year's "Lease-A-Seat" program. Golfers can lease a seat for the season, and avoid paying for a cart rental every time they hit the green. If two friends, each participating in the "Lease-A-Seat" program, decide to golf, neither will pay for a cart rental.

The price to "Lease-A-Seat" for the season is just $550, compared to the local average of $710.

Membership at Valley View is also quite affordable. For Utica residents a seasonal membership is only $450, while the standard fee is $550. A membership at other local courses is much higher.

Valley View is also announcing special discounts for: Veterans, City Employees, Seniors, and First Time Members.

Other announcements concerning Valley View Golf Course:

Mayor Roefaro rebuilt 3 bunkers (sand traps) on the course this spring.

The Mayor would also like residents to know that this year; proper golf course etiquette will be enforced as strictly as it was last year. Proper golf etiquette, including dress requirements, is now posted on the carts themselves.

"I know Valley View will have another tremendously successful season this summer. Dominic Longo has done a great job at marketing this city treasure, one of the best golf courses in the country," the mayor said.

"We'll be keeping our standards high, our customer service strong, and our etiquette rules enforced to ensure that this season is just as successful as last year's," he added.

Valley View Manager, Dominic Longo said, "We're like a private club in the center of the city. Our staff is friendly. The course is beautiful, challenging, and serene. This place is heaven."
