July 17, 2008 – (Utica, NY) –

On Saturday July 19, 2008, The City of Utica in partnership with the Carbone

Auto Group is giving away 300 refurbished and reconditioned bicycles to the

city's youth.

The City is holding the event at the new Public Safety Center on James

Street from Noon- 4pm. There will be music, refreshments, and more.

The bikes are all free, but a parent or guardian must accompany a

child who wants a bike.

Utica Mayor David Roefaro will be there handing out bikes and said, "The

city is more youth involved than ever before, and that's something we can

all be proud of." He added, "This is also a testament of our commitment to

the residents of James Street and all of Cornhill."

Chris Robinton, of the Carbone Auto Group said, "When you start with one

kid at a time, things will start changing out there."

Other Sponsors include: Smith Packing, and McCraith Beverage.
