Hanna Park Summer Series

The summer entertainment series at Hanna Park will take on a new dimension in the 2003 season offering distinctly different programs three nights each week, Mayor Timothy Julian announced today.

On Wednesday, June 4th, Showstoppers takes to the stage at 6PM.

Beginning June 11th, Wednesday nights in the park expand their scope with single and dual musical acts, sponsored by the Utica Musical Alliance Resource Center, taking center stage at 6PM, while the park plays host to an Antique Flea Market, sponsored by the City of Utica.  Anyone wishing to set up a booth at the Antique Flea Market can arrange to do so by contacting “Antiques Plus” at 724-4322.

Friday evenings will be “Open Mike Night at Hanna Park” sponsored by the UMARC.  Anyone wishing to display a talent ranging from dramatic readings and musical performances to stand-up comedy routines can sign up at the park at 5:30 PM, with 10-minute performances beginning at 6PM. ‘Karaoke with Brother Don Hayes’ will be featured on the Friday schedule on June 27th, July 18th, August 8th, and the parks final Friday program on August 29th.

“We wanted to offer the patrons  to Hanna Park something more this year; a variation from the strictly  musical format of past seasons and a forum to showcase the amateur talent Utica has to offer,” Mayor Julian said.

Beginning Monday, June 2nd, the park’s concession area will be open each day for lunch from 11AM to 2PM and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings when entertainment in the park is scheduled.  Hot Dogs, Chips, ice cream and beverages will be available at the concession area.
